PURPOSE

The Computer Applications Fundamentals Career Studies Certificate (CSC) program introduces students to computer application software required by business and industry. Students use computer application software to develop business applications.

  • Information technology clerk

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Design spreadsheets using formulas, pivot tables, functions, charts, tables, and macros
  • Apply basics of web design including elements, website creation, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Understand fundamentals of hardware and software
  • Explore database concepts through Access
  • Prepare for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams for Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

General college curricular admission

PROGRAM NOTES

  • The Computer Applications Fundamentals CSC fulfills the concentration electives in the Information Systems Technology Associate of Applied Science degree
  • IT courses used for this program may not be more than 10 years old
  • Students should check their advisement report in SIS and meet with their faculty advisor
