- Chassis-related failures
- Hybrid/electric vehicle failures
- Drivetrain-related failures
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the general college admission requirements, pre-admission program requirements include:
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Completion of, or concurrent enrollment in, SDV 101 Orientation to Automotive Careers*
- Ability to fulfill hiring requirements at a service and repair facility

PROGRAM NOTES
The General Automotive Program provides theory and practice on modern vehicles, but does not specialize in any specific brand. This program encompasses a career studies certificate (Maintenance and Light Repair) and a certificate (Automotive Technology), which lead to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. An internship component will be required in the first year to complete the AAS degree. Students who successfully complete the Associate of Applied Science degree will have potentially two years of practical experience and industry certifications through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
This program is accredited through the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation and all instructors are ASE Certified Master technicians with advanced-level certifications.
COMPUTER COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT
Students in this program will meet the college’s computer competency requirement by successfully completing the SDV 101 - Orientation to Automotive Careers.
