CURRICULUM:

Teacher Licensure (Educate VA)

The Educate VA program consists of two levels. Level I is comprised of online and face-to-face instruction. Level II - the part of the Educate VA program that makes us so unique - is the post-coursework experience. After Level I, as a graduate seeks employment and during their first year of teaching, Educate VA partners students with mentors to guide, instruct and advise them in order to ensure they receive the support they need to thrive as a new teacher. Additional instructional support is also offered through Level II modules and three required Level II Saturday seminars. The program consists of 220-hours of instruction delivered within an 18-week format for professional studies training. Instruction is delivered online via Canvas, and will focus on the following modules: Foundations of Teaching, Instructional Design, Teaching and Learning Content Methods, Teaching Reading in the Content Area, Classroom Management, and Current Trends and Issues in Education, and Assessment, Data, and Feedback.
