PURPOSE: This program is designed for persons who wish to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and start a small business. This program addresses management concerns unique to small businesses, including organizational structure, marketing plans, financial analysis, tax requirements, and legal issues. Courses in this CSC apply toward the Business Management AAS
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to start a new business venture and/or contribute to a growing enterprise.
- Develop and present a business plan.
- Effectively utilize business technology as well as communication strategies.
- Use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions based on accepted business principles.
OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES: This program trains students to own, operate, and manage a small business with 100 or fewer employees.
