STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:   

• Students will learn and understand the importance of cultural sensitivity as it relates to delivery of care to individuals of diverse backgrounds.
• Students will learn and demonstrate knowledge of the human services field including its history, purpose, and key services and roles. Students will be able to understand the needs that key services and roles address and explain the importance of advocacy.
• Learn the required skills to effectively build and maintain therapeutic helping relationships. This will include acquiring skills such as active listening, effective responses, personalized responses, summarizing, and rapport building.
