PURPOSE: This certificate will give students the skills for entry level positions producing podcasts, radio, and other web media. Student will receive training in writing, editing, recording and the study of media. All credits are stackable within the Liberal Arts AA or General Studies AS. Students will have a strong background to progress on to four-year degrees in Mass Communications while immediately being able to find entry-level positions or gig work.
OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES: Students completing this certificate will be immediately ready to enter the workforce as audio media content producers. They will have the basic skills to write scripts, record audio, and edit for podcasts, radio, or other web media.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: General college curricular admission
PROGRAM NOTES: In addition to the general college curricular admission requirements, a personal interview with the program head is recommended. Students must attain a grade of “C” or higher in all courses completed in this program with ART, CST, and ENG course prefixes.
COMPUTER COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT: Students in this program must meet the college’s computer competency requirement by successfully completing SDV 100 .
