PURPOSE
The Computer Applications Fundamentals Career Studies Certificate (CSC) program introduces students to computer application software required by business and industry. Students use computer application software to develop business applications.
OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES
- Computer support specialist
- Computer technician
- Help desk analyst
- Information technology clerk
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Design spreadsheets using formulas, pivot tables, functions, charts, tables, and macros
- Apply basics of web design including elements, website creation, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Understand fundamentals of hardware and software
- Explore database concepts through Access
- Prepare for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams for Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

General college curricular admission
PROGRAM NOTES
- The Computer Applications Fundamentals CSC fulfills the concentration electives in the Information Systems Technology Associate of Applied Science degree
- IT courses used for this program may not be more than 10 years old
- Students should check their advisement report in SIS and meet with their faculty advisor
